A mother is found not guilty on all charges (with the exception of providing false statements) in the murder of her daughter, and the media is awash in coverage.

Even Anthony Weiner's penis picks via Twitter received more coverage than this case.

Even DU was awash in thread after thread about the Casey Anthony verdict and Weiner.

This country, our media, and our populace is completely desensitized and full of shit. There, I said it. If you've ever wondered why we're losing the political battle, it's because, in large part, we've already lost the battle in expecting more of our discourse with each other and in media on injustice, especially when it comes to how the government treats its citizens and how a "responsible press" is supposed to serve as an arm to challenge it.
