Man admitted killing mother during religion argument
A Marietta man killed his mother due to an argument concerning religion, a Cobb County warrant states.

Mario Nathaniel Dorce, 23, remains jailed on murder and other felony charges in the death of 52-year-old May Carole Whitty.

Officers responded to the victim's Marietta home, located in the 2600 block of Tritt Springs Trace, at about 9 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Whitty's body was found inside the home with "obvious signs of trauma," police said.

The criminal warrant states Dorce admitted to shooting Whitty about 15 times with a 9mm handgun, including reloading the weapon after it jammed.

Police would not explain the nature of the religion argument.

Friday night, Dorce asked a neighbor if he could spend the night at their home.

“We said ‘We don’t really know you. We would prefer that you went to a neighbor that knew you a little better, maybe they’d be able to help you out,’” neighbor Shaun Simms said.

While under arrest Saturday, the “suspect was back in the cop car laughing, smiling, joking, um, singing songs and just acting a little crazy,” Simms said.

Did she die because he thought she didn't believe sufficiently?

4. She died because her son was crazy
Crazy often partners with religion.
Religion enables a lot of crazy.

6. My son-in-law fights with his mother all the time
over religion. She is OBSESSED with religion, and cannot drop it with him, or anybody else she knows. All of life's "ills", mostly her son's, can be blamed on their lack of religion, and god punishing them for it.

My son-in-law just walks about the door when she starts in on this. My daughter refuses to go see her mother-in-law. His Dad is fine. Don't know how he puts up with her. Well, he goes fishing, golf, bowling, walks, anywhere out of the house A LOT. lol

Best thing to do with these people is ignore them. Don't give them an audience. They can preach all they want to the 4 walls.
