In a bizarre Fox News segment Thursday night, right-wing talk show host Sean Hannity insisted that providing free birth control pills to women through their insurance is helping to build a “nanny state,” but giving men free pills to give them erections is just addressing a “medical problem.”

Apparently Hannity wasn’t aware than every single day, at least 1,000 women around the world die due to pregnancy, or that the majority of health insurance policies already cover birth control (PDF).

Recent studies have also shown that unintended pregnancies cost U.S. taxpayers over $11 billion a year.

But not being able to get an erection: that’s serious business.

They think pregnancy is a picnic, and childbirth, why you just squat down in a field after a few pains and the baby just slides out with no problem.

My ex-husband actually told people I got big and fat and laid around the house, not working, because I didn't get any exercise. I was pregnant and gained 35 pounds of baby and fluid and such.

He believed it was fat instead of a baby. :banghead:

And he was mad because I insisted on going to the Medical Center instead of having the baby at a suburban hospital where I had heard too many horror stories.

I was in my hospital room recovering from a C-section, just a few hours later, and he told me I was LAZY for lying in bed. I had a catheter in my bladder. He thought I was too lazy to go to the bathroom. He was in the delivery room when they cut me open and pulled the baby out. I was forbidden from getting out of bed for two days due to the spinal anesthesia I had. He even asked the nurses if he could take the baby home and leave me in the hospital. That wouldn't work -- I was breastfeeding every four hours.

Good riddance to that idiot.

We could also flip the argument if the beady-eyed little shit would prefer and make it that boner pills are NOT covered by insurance and let all the men with the drummed-up medical "condition" of "ED" pay for their pills (I would feel confident that Sean is likely not only a spokesperson for that industry, but also a client of the boner pills).
