Senator Kirk (R) IL Is Blaming The President For The S&P Downgrade.... |
|
The Repugs are beginning to play the blame game. The Dems need to get out in front of this. We all know who created this situation but if the Dems don't yell it out to the American People the Repugs will get the upper hand. The local Chicago TV news station wanted a statement from Sen. Durbin & his office said he's in the process of formulating a statement. At least in Illinois the Repugs have the jump.

1. Here you go, tell the world: |

From the S&P downgrade pdf: <..> Compared with previous projections, our revised base case scenario now assumes that the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, due to expire by the end of 2012, remain in place. We have changed our assumption on this because the majority of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise revenues, a position we believe Congress reinforced by passing the act.http://www.standardandpoors.com/servlet/BlobServer?blobheadername3=MDT-Type&blobcol=urldata&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobheadervalue2=inline%3B+filename%3DUS_Downgraded_AA%2B.pdf&blobheadername2=Content-Disposition&blobheadervalue1=application%2Fpdf&blobkey=id&blobheadername1=content-type&blobwhere=1243942957443&blobheadervalue3=UTF-8

You can't hang this on the President. S&P already hung it on the republicans. Surely you don't want to quibble about that.....or do you?

5. S&P Might Have Hung This On The Repugs But.... |
|
This Chicago 10pm tv news program just laid it at the feet of the Dems & the President by airing Kirk's statement and saying the Durbin doesn't have a comment at this time. Durbin doing this makes it look like the Dems are the guilty party. There was no mention of S&P's comment about the Repugs.

6. Call the station and read the S&P report to them. |
|
Kirk is a teabagger. Durbin won't speak out until he has facts. That is the difference.
