Republican Memo of the Day:
Don't let them blame us or the Tea Partiers for this downgrade in our credit rating. We need to go out strong today and blame it on Obama and the big spenders in our government.

Never mind that it would never have happened if we had not made a big deal out of a routine vote and threatened to not pay our creditors.

We know that the Democrats will not fight back on this issue. We need to get out early and put this squarely on the shoulders of Barack Obama. Go get 'em gang!

2. "We know that the Democrats will not fight back on this issue."
This is what we Democrats do. We DO NOT fight back. Obama DID NOT fight back. He did not ask the base to fight the Repukes on any of this.

3. In his speech this morning...
He appealed for "bi-partisanship" and working together to solve the problems. :sigh:

He could have said, "We didn't have to go thru this ordeal. We had a routine vote but the Republicans wanted to make a big political issue out of it and threatened to not pay our debts. They alone hold the blame for this downgrade." But he didn't.

7. Why is this man committing political suicide? I mean, I know he's been doing it from day 1....
but WHY?

The Repukes don't respect him, they hate him, they insult him, they manipulate him, and meanwhile, DOES HE USE HIS BASE? Hell no. He's still trying to be liked by the fucking GOP.

8. I am infuriated most of all by the bi partisan meme.
I am also convinced it is maintained not out of a real desire of compromise but to maintain peace and stability. As for myself I tend to place hostage takers in the terrorist camp. Between enemies foreign and domestic the domestic are worse. Even at this stage there is no compromise just appeasement. I am also convinced that Obama does not have a clue how much the sizable extreme right despises him.

4. How is the "liberally-biased media" going to be able to blame the Dems for this?
I mean, was there ANYTHING that the Democrats wanted in the deal that sent the stock market plummeting?

5. First thing they do...
..is interview a couple of Repub spokesmen. Whenever Repubs are solely to blame, they always share it. "Both sides are to blame", they always say.
