"Governor Rick Perry is like a king on this earth..."
Said a lady at that rally with a microphone thrust in her face on ABC evening news. She had that look in her eyes that Bush's groupies used to get during the 2000 campaign season.

Life is too long for this crap.

4. Perry is actually far more dangerous...
Both are opportunists, both just happened to have been at the right place at the right time, but Perry is much more a policy fanatic than Bush ever was.

God help us if Perry somehow gets in the White House, especially if the Republicans keep the House and win back the Senate. Every bit of progress this nation has made over the last many decades will be undone faster than you can absorb what is happening.

Don't write this guy off, he could be the GOP nominee. And if the economy keeps floundering and people feel the country is not on the mend, he could win. I believe the regressive ticket in 2012 will be Perry/Rubio.

8. 2012 will be Perry/Rubio -
they'd have Florida and Texas right out of the gate, and Perry can definitely win elections. If the threat of this combo winning doesn't encourage a primary challenge I don't know what will.

11. They'll want Rubio for Florida and Hispanic votes in general...
The Republicans know they can't keep bleeding Hispanic voters and win state and national elections. They hope Rubio will cut into the Democratic advantage among that voting block. In 2010 Biden offered experience since Obama was pretty new to national politics, but by 2012 Biden doesn't really bring us much advantage - meanwhile Rubio could be a great asset to the Republicans.

10. Perry will most likely be the next president
Edited on Sat Aug-06-11 06:20 PM by Strelnikov_
The Reich will retain the House, and capture the Senate.

The outlook for 2012 is grim. This is primarily due to a unfocused Democratic message up against the multi-layered propaganda machine the rich and powerful have built to support the party they own lock, stock and barrel.

And I have no doubt at the end of election night 2012 the 'liberal media' will be calling this the end of the Democratic Party and the ultimate triumph of Conservatism.

And, within two years of this night a new wave of Democrats will sweep into control of the House and Senate. And in four years the first female President, a Democrat, will sweep Perry from office.

And this will happen because most of the electorate are fucking idiots. Seventy percent support progressive policies but still vote for the Reich morons.

I am afraid we are going to have to hit bottom. And bottom will be a Tea-Bag Congress combined with an idiot like Perry. There will be moment of clarity in the electorate when Medicare and Social Security are truly on the chopping block, while Military spending continues to increase. Will there be new Democrats able to seize this moment?

22. We'll get through it
The only game ender is Thermonuclear War, and that would be bad for the rich.

Only reason these assholes can carry on like they do are the social safety net and regulatory environment built over generations by liberals that keeps most of the lumpenprole safe, fed and housed which allows time to bitch about how the govment needs to stay out of their Medicare.

A taste of Somali livin' is gonna rock their world.

5. Now we're talkin'...
...why there should be a law or something separatin' state from church.

My understanding is that in the United States: God does not select our leaders, We the People elect our leaders.

Or, at least it used to be that way.

13. I remember the same look in Bachmann's eyes when she went horny poodle on Bush's leg ...
after the 2007 State of the Union speech. (I would call it dry-humping, but "dry" would seem improbable to anyone who saw it live.)

Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical theocratic ceremony.
