On Saturday we posted an article detailing the similarities, and apparent coordination, in misleading "Absentee Ballot Application" mailers sent out to Democratic voters in advance of tomorrow's GOP recall elections, by both the David Koch-founded Americans for Prosperity - Wisconsin and a mysterious group calling themselves United Sportsmen of Wisconsin.

Since then, we have been able to discover who is behind the mysterious "gun group", and quite a bit about the young man responsible for it. And, yes, as it turns out, he is a former director of Americans for Prosperity, with a recent history of deceptive political election campaigns by mysterious groups with anonymous funding…

subversive, anti-democratic organization which parents should be warned about before their children go to college.

It's hard to believe that such an organization exists that actually teaches young people to be dishonest and ruthless.

Shouldn't this be the job of Board of Elections. I'm so glad that here in Tarrant County our Elections Admins. do a much better job of running elections then these Bozos. More counties should conduct elections like we do here. So far since I have been Precinct Chair, I have been mostly satisfied with how our elections work. I must say we don't use plastic bags to hold our ballots like in Wisconsin. That is insane and very easy to abuse the system.

I'm almost certain there is already mischief taking place in Wisconsin as I type this. Sad too think this way, but there is probably a lot of truth to it. Time will tell as today unfolds, as well into the next few days. I'm sure there will be some more Prosser tactics going on. I hope I'm wrong!

...John Nichols the other day compared Wisconsin to the Spanish Civil War. Not so much for the ideological differences (no need to belabor those) as to highlight what a difference "outside" groups made to the final outcome, in that horribly bloody and nasty war. (The Loyalists might have prevailed, if it had remained a localized fight. But the Condor Legion and Luftwaffe were much better equipped and came in greater numbers than the International Brigades. The ME-109 was a little more effective than the Polikarpov I-16, which slightly resembled a flying beer keg.)
