Obama, 2012, And Salesmanship...
Many years ago, I was approached by a company to sell a product that I did not believe in.

Now at the time, I really could have used the money, and they did offer me a job, but I turned it down.

When asked why, I told them that although I could easily sell a product that I believed in, I would really be doing them no good trying to sell an idea, product, person, etc... that I could not fully endorse.

Since I cannot effectively force that sort of phoniness, I'm fairly positive that the customer will sense my hesitation, and choose not to buy what I'm selling.

Therefore... Obama and 2012.

2. Maybe he's doing better than it looks.
I have it on reliable authority that in the alternate universe, in which Obama stands up to the teabaggers and doesn't make a debt ceiling deal, the Dow is down 1,000 points!

6. What Are You Afraid Of, scheming ???
Do you really think people voicing their concerns on a political opinion board on the web can actually change the course of events???

Or... do you think that the election is gonna be so close, that it just might?

7. I'm afraid of what you should be afraid of: President Romney/Bachmann/Perry
And people's words on a message board reflect their real world actions.

8. Dude... I'm Just One Vote...
And I'll probably end up holding my nose and voting for Obama anyway.

What... I'm supposed to act like I like it too???

:wtf:

That's asking a bit too much.

4. What if I *don't* sense your hesitation, but still don't want to buy what you're selling?
Who's the winner there?

10. Both my parents won awards for salesmanship.
Edited on Mon Aug-08-11 09:21 PM by EFerrari
They could sell anything to anyone anywhere. My mom is 79 and even with some cognitive impairment, she could still sell you your own underwear. lol

But the thing is, their customers didn't follow them around for four years before they got the pitch. Everyday stuff doesn't sort well with magic.

Now, I've never seen anyone as good as Obama is on the stump. But, there's all that baggage he'll be trying to talk over. I don't know if it'll work, really.
