2. It's on the MSNBC website |
|
and they actually have more on them than the BBC website does.
However, don't expect much of it on broadcast news. They don't want to give us any ideas.

10. "They don't want to give us any ideas" EXACTLY! |
|
Governments fear their people, and especially in the United States, this government fears it's well-subdued people. God forbid we find out how they're screwing us.
Corporate media all want to keep the masses subdued, so of course they're not going to report on riots in other countries as the people stand up against their government that coddles corporations too much, and makes their people pay beyond what they can handle.

6. Rachel covered it toward the end of her show. |
|
I think they don't know what to say and how to frame/explain it, so are avoiding it for now. If it keeps up, they will have to cover it narrative or not.

7. they are afraid the young people will rise up here. |
|
well actually there are some people rising up against police violence.
I always question it when they call them thugs. Thugs just don't go off rioting in big groups.
If you look closer it was peaceful protests and then large groups of riot cops confronted their protesting. The young people have had it. wish a little of it rubbed off on young people here.

Actually the last few protests in London (peaceful protests including the protests against the government cuts and the student fee protests) have been taken over by anarchist uk and other anarchist groups who are just out to cause chaos. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case with the current riots. This isn't a protest, yes it started out as a peaceful protest about mark duggan's death by police, but now it is just total chaos, and 'thugs' is the perfect word to describe them. The ordinary law-abiding people of London are scared in their homes while houses and local businesses are looted and set fire to. People protesting would not set out to destroy their own communities.

9. They are afraid it might spread here. |
|
They are right to be afraid. People here are pretty restless these days.
I was just at my local corner market and the Syrian guy who works at night was watching it on television and shouting, "I am so proud of my country and these people in London! Americans are too lazy to take their country back! All they want to do is drink and take pills and watch sitcoms!"
He was on FIRE, I tell you.
