I have been thinking about this for a while but have never put it into words but....

Remember when Firedoglake came on the scene? It was about 2006-7?? Somewhere around there. All of a sudden out of nowhere they are the go to blog. I read them everyday. Also emptywheel and another blog I regularly read, I can't even remember the name now I am so fickle and change my tastes. Anyway their popularity grew ex potentially at the time of the grand jury investigation into the Plame outing. Then Firedoglake gets the exclusive blog access to the trial featuring Patrick "The Fixer" Fitzgerald, and provides the internet world with the blow by blow action in the trial court. At the time I was all caught up in the drama and emotion and thinking that this thing was going to take the Bush admin down, but upon reflection, and a few years of wisdom; I wonder really where Firedoglake came from, who they are, and what is their agenda?

Do you find it suspicious at all?? I mean come on, that whole grand jury deal and the way Karl went back 3 yeah that's right 3 times... but I digress.

All of a sudden they are such a popular blog but....they weren't before that. And surely there were other blogs more deserving of the exclusive access to the trial, don't you think?
