In a word: CREDO I made the switch months ago and cannot get over the difference in price and service. Plus, they donate big time to our cherished causes. ##snip## "The Communications Workers of America note that the 'top http://www.truth-out.org/verizon-demands-huge-cuts-worker-benefits-its-profits-soar-and-its-ceo-gets-18-million-compensatio-0five executives (at the company) received compensation of $258 million over the past 4 years.'" ##snip## http://www.truth-out.org/verizon-demands-huge-cuts-worker-benefits-its-profits-soar-and-its-ceo-gets-18-million-compensatio-0

1. CREDO reminds me of Netflix |
|
You get a live American customer service rep in no time who solves the problem. There is also the option of overpaying your bill by specifying to which group the extra cash should go.

3. I use a combo of Magic Jack for my landline |
|
& T-Mobile for my cell service. The few times I have called for customer service through the years. I have always talked with someone who I could understand speaking English.

advertises A LOT on TeeVee in the L.A. market, but it seems too good to be true.

6. It is far from perfect |
|
I really wanted to just eliminate the land line, but my wife wouldn't go for it, so this was the next best thing I could do. You do have to run it through the computer and it is VOIP so it really runs through my AT&T U-Verse. Sometimes it sounds a little odd, but for the cost difference saving me some $350.00 per year I can live with it and she will have to do so as well.

8. There are also gadgets that let you "dock" your cellphone when at home. |
|
They then drive the same phone wiring and house phones that used to be driven by your local phone company. Or the dock provides a number of wireless handsets that you can scatter around the house.
The docks often use Bluetooth radio to connect to your cellphone.
A year ago, when we finally wanted to junk our landline, we considered getting such a device but after a very short while with my iPhone, I realized we didn't need the old wired phones at all. (We also "ported" our existing landline number to my iPhone.)

7. we could never get a hold of someone for the magic jack and when my husband finally did get a hold |
|
of someone through online they insisted that the thing that broke (the part that plugs into the usb plug in the computer broke off) was all us and not them). even though it had been under the year and they had claimed a guarantee and all we wanted was them to send us a replacement..... we chalked it up to the cost of saving money on the magic jack and bought a new one and an adapter so we didn't have it plugged directly into the side of the computer. but other than that one problem we never had any other with it that i recall. our main reason for it is that we went cell only several years ago and wanted our daughter to be able to call us if she beat me home if the bus got here first.

on my crappy AT&T contract, and CREDO bought it out. Maybe give them a call and see what they can do for you.
Good luck!
