Caller in Wisconsin on Bill Press show just reprorted:
That he was at his polling place this morning @7:00 when the polls opened and he estimates that at least 100 people were already lined up to vote.

Go Wisconsin.

4. Thanks for volunteering your time for this effort
Your right this could be a very historic day and I think we can apply the saying here that "As Wisconsin goes so goes the country."

5. Don't let them intimidate you
intimidation is all they have left!

Thanks for volunteering...aside from donating money, there wasn't much else available in this district...our Senator JULIE LASSA survived the recall attempt by the American Patriots Recall Committee ..a shadowy group out of Utah, lead locally by a Ron Paul disciple

Best Wishes to you!

30. That was my high school song...

...but to be different from other high schools that also had On Wisconsin as their pep song, our school added a drum roll at the beginning and the middle with all the drums kicking in. I played it on coronet!

Remember these are all Republican Districts and those Senators were elected by HUGE margins in 2010..... Democrats have a HUGE hill to climb here..

At my polling place, some guy practically carried in his mother, who had to be in her 90's and probably had IV's hidden under her coat. He went in the booth with her. I swear they rounded up every one they could and I wouldn't be surprised if money was involved.

18. Love New Jersey, hate Christie.
I lived in Ocean City and Sommers Point for 2 1/2 years (1969-71) when my ex was in the Coast Guard. Also spent time in Ocean City as a kid at my Aunt's rental. Several summers in Stone Harbor with Mom and Dad. My uncle was a realtor so we really lucked out every summer!

I spent about 6 weeks in the Green Bay area recalling Robert Cowles. And if the timing is right, I will be back this winter to recall Walker and work on the special election.

The song was originally written for the U of Minnesota, but they decided they didn't want it, and the rest is history. A little Badger Alumni trivia.

32. Here's what I've learned about "On Wisconsin":
http://www.badgerband.com/music/onwis.php

The link also includes 2 versions of the song to hear.

On Wisconsin is not only the University "fight song," but it has also been designated as the official State Song of Wisconsin. It is undoubtedly one of the most popular school songs in the country and has been adopted by thousands of high school bands as their own. It is rare to attend a high school football game anywhere in the U.S. and not hear On Wisconsin being performed by at least one of the school bands.

The melody of this famous song was composed in 1909 by W.T. Purdy, a corporation clerk who prior to that time had never set foot in Wisconsin. The words were supplied by Carl Beck, a former University of Wisconsin student. In the parlor of a Chicago boarding house, it took them only several evenings to compose. The pair (who worked for $10 per day each) couldn't scare up the $50 it took to publish the tune. They got a $10 credit from a firm of music plate engravers, used the credit for reference at the printers, and had 500 copies hastily printed.

Written accounts of the earliest performances of On Wisconsin reveal that the first performance occurred on November 10, 1909, when it was sung by the "Glee Club." Purdy performed the song November 11, 1909, at a giant pep rally before the Minnesota game. The song was an instant hit with students singing "Fight fellows, fight, fight, fight, we'll win this game." It was also reported that the UW Band performed the song at the Minnesota game on November 13, 1909.

Over the years many other memorable "events" have happened with On Wisconsin. In 1918, Purdy sold his copyright for less than $100. On July 11, 1959, On Wisconsin was adopted by the state legislature and signed by Governor Gaylord Nelson as the official state song. Many rumors swirl as to who owns the rights to On Wisconsin ranging from Michael Jackson to Paul McCartney. The song is considered to be in the public domain.

The whole world is watching.

I did my small part for my neighbors to the north. The small amount of time and money I was able to donate was not much. But there were many others like me.

I won't sleep well until I hear the results.
