Set a date in the future. Maybe three months from today. If the private sector cannot create enough jobs to ease the economic worries, start taxing them so that the government is able to create jobs through public works programs.

Set a date, draw a line in the sand. It's time for someone to wake up and realize that if the rich were reticent to provide jobs before the stock market began to crash, it's going to be even less inclined to do so now.

2. I agree in part but
start taxing them NOW. Increase their rates astronomically until they create jobs, then (maybe) give them tiny breaks as long as they maintain or increase their efforts. They can afford the decreased profits due to current stock market drops, seeing how they've benefiting from years and years of no taxes and government incentives.

3. i like the idea.... do you specify WHERE they are to create jobs? any jobs ok??
I really want to see a public works program to do infrastructure work and expand the broadband. it really needs to be a utility at this point. Let the government own it and companies compete over the lines. I know... won't happen but a girl can dream can't she since we seem to be in fat chance land anyway.

5. Note to phrase it as a "tax decrease"!
You say the tax rate *IS* going up. If you create domestic jobs, that tax rate will be waived for a period.

6. IF YOU RAISE taxes, companies will RE-INVEST
instead of profit taking, cause it AIN'T TAXED.

7. Good luck getting anyone to put the bill up for Congress
to vote on let alone getting it to a vote. But it is a brilliant idea.
