The very fact that there are so many youths, as they have been described, who are willing to engage in these acts reveals that there are some serious social problems that have not been addressed.
While I agree that this is not an uprising, how the British government reacts to regain security and what message they take from it could very well cycle into something more closely resembling a people's uprising. It is too early to tell what implications this will have for London, Great Britain and the West in general.
If the British government overreacts, it could spiral out of control very quickly. On the other hand, standing idly by is not an option either.
