Tonight on Countdown - Eliot Spitzer |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-09-11 04:59 PM by Samantha
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/eliot-spitzer-to-appear-on-countdown_b79882Hurray! and here is another link to an article regarding David Bohrman, Current's new president: http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/current-tvs-david-bohrman-on-keith-olbermann-cable-news-noise-and-the-future-of-the-channel_b79786He has no plans to wait six months before starting to build the network. He talks about building a 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm show to frame Countdown as soon as possible. Is Spitzer auditioning tonight? I think he would be a great addition. I feel extremely positive about the direction in which Current is going. I can't wait until it gets there. Sam

2. I'm amazed that they seem to have considerable $$ behind Current |
|
and are not afraid to spend them. How did Gore manage this?

4. Well, didn't he among other things invest in Apple early after he |
|
left the public eye? I am saying this from some distant memory bells, and didn't check my info. But I believe I heard that. I heard about five years after he retired from the public eye that he had amassed a fortune through investments. He had never had the time to focus on this while being a public servant, and he felt he owed it to his family to make their lives more secure in light of the sacrifice they had made over the years.

3. Giving David Schuster a show would be great, too |
|
And if they can, hire Tamron Hall away from MSNBC - she and David were a great team. Since he was fired, she's been very subdued and just not as engaged as she was while working with him.

7. Do you think they would since he takes over on Countdown when Keith is away |
|
I think he is a valuable asset, but I am not sure just anyone could sit in the driver's seat at Countdown when Keith is away. Of course, perhaps he could have an earlier show. The new president has great ideas about reformatting the whole lineup.

16. With two or three hosts, they could sit in for each other |
|
When one goes on vacation. That would not be a huge hassle, to do an extra hour or half hour for a week or two.
If they brought in more hosts, such as Tamron Hall, that would give them more flexibility, though.

There have been many suggestions Spitzer was "taken out" because he was onto the banking/housing market fraud and was gearing up to expose the whole ugly details. I truly believe that. Whenever a politician "steps out of bounds" the investigation begins, and usually one can find some dirt on these high-profile types if they know where to look. The whole explanation of how they "stumbled" upon his after hours activities I thought at the time sounded kind of beyond belief ....

11. YES! Spitzer! Now you are building a REAL NETWORK. |
|
We must ask chairman Gore to set a standard of ZERO CORPORATE INFLUENCE. Its time for a game changer. I would encourage CURRENT TV to work closely with Progressives United and Russ Fiengold.

13. That would be great, and no one is better than Feingold |
|
At least he now has a platform on which to appear whenever he needs one. How many times have you seen Feingold have a shot on a cable network in prime time since he left office? I have never seen him. I have the highest respect for this man.
