Patty Murray urged to stop raising $ while she sits on debt panel

Immediately after Sen. Patty Murray was named Tuesday as co-char of the bipartisan, “super committee” tasked with finding more than $1 trillion in budget savings by the end of the year, Republicans said she should cease her political activities in connection with the 2012 election.

Now Murray, a Democrat and Washington senior senator, is catching flak from liberals, as well. Murray, re-elected to a fourth term last year, had previously been name Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee chairwoman. That gig involves a lot of fundraising for candidates. However GOPers, and now The Hill reports some Democrats, are saying that role conflicts with her new role on the debt panel.

5. Why the flak from the liberals, do you know? She's one of

my Senators and of the two, I'd much prefer Murray over Cantwell, but I'd like more of a kick-ass fighter, I think.

She's not perfect -- not one of the ones whose vote I check as a bellwether of the "right" vote, but pretty good, nonetheless.
