Sanders: Lack of access to dental care a national disgrace
Lack of access to dental care is a national disgrace. An estimated 130 million Americans have no coverage for dental care. In Vermont, only four in 10 kids have a regular dentist.

4. Number of instances of severe medical maladies, even deaths, stemming from lack of proper dental
care must be enormous, but I've never seen any data to support my supposition. :shrug: :patriot:

And of the 200 million that have dental coverage, a lot of those have dental coverage that completely sucks.

I have no idea what the maximum allowed amount is on most plans, but most of the ones I've heard that people have was around $1-2k. That barely covers a root canal and crown even if nothing else needs to be done.

6. I have good dental insurance. The problem is that when I go in for a simple cleaning
the dental office insist that they do all these x rays and point out needless stuff. Then they want me to pay thousands of dollars when all I wanted was a simple cleaning. If I refuse all the nonsense, they refuse to give me a simple cleaning unless I have a scaling that will cost hundreds of dollar for each quadrant. Mind you that I had just had a simple cleaning in another state. I hate dealing with rip off dentist.
