Then they should pay taxes at people's tax rates. If they don't make much, they don't pay. If they make over 380,000, they'll be taxed at 35 percent. If they keep money in foreign lands to not pay taxes, just revoke their right to sell products in America, or add tariffs to collect their taxes, enough to make producing the product in America once again practical. If they hurt people they go on trial, if they act in a way that doesn't appear patriotic, allow them to be duly chastised. And put the same limits on their campaign contributions as people, allow 2600 for the primary, and 2600 for the general election, no more.
It really seems reasonable that if you are going to make these legal contract entities people, that you also force them to follow the same restrictions and laws that are imposed on people.

Directly to the person, or ads for the person, is to me, one and the same.
I may be wrong on my first statement though and if I am I'm hoping someone will correct me. I really dislike being ignorant of something.

12. Well, and they're also the people who work for them |
|
Sort of like a "family", which (IMO) is just a word until you associate it with the people who comprise it.

people also use it in reference to their own relatives...
as in, "I'm going back East to visit the family".
In any case, it was just an example of how something can be something else without actually being it.

15. Yeah, I worked for several orgs that tried that "family" psych. But families don't disown members. |

I got disowned by my family for years because I wouldn't stick up for my child molester brother in law
Families can be just as nasty as any corporation.
They can cut each other down, sabotage, hurt, maim and destroy, screw each other over, and kill.
In any case, my point isn't about families themselves. My point is...as I posted above...that metaphorically, corporations are people. And that, I think, is what Romney meant. I believe he's an intelligent man...just like John Kerry...who speaks in a manner that people can be use against him.
