Chief Justice John Marshall quote on "corporate personhood"
"John Marshall, the nation’s greatest chief justice, saw a corporation as “an artificial being, invisible, intangible,” he wrote in 1819. “Being the mere creature of law, it possesses only those properties which the charter of its creation confers upon it, either expressly, or as incidental to its very existence.”

Me thinks John Roberts, et. al. needs to have at least more respect for "precedent" than he has for the President!

6. well, YAH, but your missing the key point that Judicial Precedent
Edited on Sat Aug-13-11 07:51 AM by Volaris
is another of those things that "only works in MY favor (never YOURS), 'cause I'M a Republican.

I would bet good money that Precedent is just AWESOME to John Roberts if it means The Court gets to do things like uphold Corporate Person-hood, but not so much if a challenge to Roe ever gets to his desk...
