Iowa hosts a gathering of the insane |
|
Edited on Sat Aug-13-11 12:59 PM by Cyrano
I couldn’t watch it. But did I really have to?
A gaggle of maniacs taking Grover Norquist’s “no new taxes” oath.
A panel that included Bachmann and Santorum without their straight jackets.
A creature named Gingrich who is the only person on Earth who believes he’s electable.
A stage full of people dedicated to stamping out the last vestiges of freedom and democracy.
A quorum of fools vowing to continue the destruction of America.
After being on a downhill slide for the past 30 years, how can this “debate” surprise anyone? I’ll never be able to grasp the mindset of the people who buy into this madness.
I’ve never had a very high opinion of the intelligence of the American public. But can anyone explain to me how incredibly mindless one has to be to take seriously anyone who occupied that stage in Iowa?

1. It's not mindless. Acting crazy is a strategy that is working, the media gives free |
|
promo for the entertaining nut jobs, without questioning them very much, and the low info voter loves the red meat and gets agitated to get out and vote and send $
Behind the insanity is a plan that works to gain power. It's all they have to get across their horrible policies but it works! That along with stealing elections and buying way more air time with Citizens United funding than Democrats can afford.

Are they opening an exhibit at the HHNHS where you will be able to watch the uncivilized savages in their natural environment?

I Believe it is actually clinically accurate to call most of the "loud" Republicans "insane". Clearly, their claims are far, far out of sync with reality. Their proposed remedies *NEVER* work. They overtly claim to be responding to the demands of their invisible friend. If you were assessing any of these folks objectively, would *YOU* claim they are sane?

5. as a person with bipolar disorder, it disgusts me. |
|
But since you think that way, why not insult fat people, ugly people, women, blacks, Jews, short people, and Asians while you're at it. I'm sure that would make you feel like a real man.

6. "insane" is not a mental health diagnosis - it is a legal term |
|
Insane is a state of legal culpability, and is not a mental health condition.

7. And psychopathy is not a mental illness |
|
It is a condition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MZCHjGkTPg&feature=relatedThe thing is, the condition seems to be one that many politicians and corporate leaders share.

... with bipolar disorder I could give a shit. Maybe you should get over yourself. If you are insane, own it. If not don't let the trifling words of others bother you so much.

14. "If you are insane, own it" ????? |
|
As in "pull your boot straps up and get over it"? :eyes:
I could (almost) accept a comment like that to be made 60 years ago. The insensitivity that I witness in this little cyber village constantly amazes me.
