thanks for the thread, the bigotry does get old. My prediction is "this is only an anecdote", unlike the other anecdotes that have been posted and argued over. Sigh.

Sooner or later (hopefully) the bigotry fad over pit bulls will fade away too.
And you're welcome uppityperson. :hi:

7. Hah! My roommate's german shephard is a MENACE. |
|
She wants to attack other dogs, other people, even children occasionally, for her own crazy reasons nobody but the dog herself knows. She does not respond to yelling "no" and she doesn't seem to feel the choke chain tightening around her neck as she strains to attack.
She is worse than ANY other dog I've ever known, and I have known a few pit bulls. It's not my roommate's fault...she adopted the dog at age 8. But clearly, someone didn't do their job of training the dog.

|
Not about mauling little children.

Fortunately for the dog involved, the story has a happy ending despite the "skepticism": http://www.petfinder.com/pet-news/animal-rescue-skeptical-of-hero-pit-bull-story.html

It's described as a "pit bull mix" but there's been no conclusive ID on its breed. It may not be in any part an APBT. Therefore, the report is flawed.*
There's no denying that whatever breed it is, it was a good dog in this incident.
*Yes, I'm drawing a comparison to the "pit bulls are killers" threads, where the above argument is made as a way of countering the descriptions of so many dogs involved in recent DBRF as "pit bull type" or "pit bull mix" without proof of the breed.
