1. No... actually they aren't..... but the GOP is stupid enough to nominate one

Rick Perry would lose big in a general election.

The "fun guy to have a beer with" candidate is not viable again any time soon.

9. I think you're giving people too much credit. The great masses
aren't as into all the goings on as we are, and if they "like" the guy, they'll vote for him. Reagan. Bush.

19. Obama scores high on "likeability" time and time again.... if that's your worry, there's no need

If Obama loses, it won't be because he is less "likeable" than the GOP nominee.

There isn't a single GOP candidate that scores anywhere near Obama in that category.

27. But you are leaving out the BIG ISSUE....Obama is not White..
That fact alone could be a deciding factor.

today than it was 12 years ago ...

The media is even MORE in the tank for the republicans, the country as a whole more easily strung along by the mindless BS the republicans sell ...

Though to be fair, many tried to do what they could within the power they had....but your representatives have to actually listen to you for letters to matter...or for protests to matter.

Elect?
No but maybe the GOP is tricky enough to steal another one into the White House.

13. H.L. Mencken responded to that question;
“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” - H.L. Mencken

And, he's been proven right in, at least. two cases (Reagan and Dumbya).

21. They're making the case.
What? You mean "The other guy sucks more" and "Hey, it's the best we could do only controlling 3 out of 3 chambers of government for 2 years and 2 out of 3 for the other 2" isn't an invigorating and inspiring case for re-election??

Or if those 2 don't work maybe they can go with "No, you don't understand. Yes we had a majority, but there is this complicated and archaic rule....let me tell you about it."

Winners all around.

And yes, the term "Kennedy Killer" is a fair term to apply to political conservatives/right from Texas.

22. That's a good list.
10. For almost four years, Perry has resided in a lavish rental home tucked into the hills overlooking the capital city of Austin, a house that has been publicly financed to the tune of over $700,000 thus far.

9. HPV mandated vaccine.

8. Rick Perry pushed massive toll road contract for foreign campaign contributor.

7. Became a millionaire while on public payroll.

6. Even other Republicans say it’s “cash for favors” with Rick Perry

5. Rick Perry enriches donors via “job creation” funds – even when they don’t produce jobs.

Snip

24. If Perry is the nominee, I'll bet he chooses Herman Cain as VP
The Republican rationale will be to try to steal away some of Obama's African American support in the South and some of the social conservatives and evangelicals among their numbers. Hopefully, no serious number of African Americans will fall for the gimmick.
