pastor of Florida megachurch found dead in ny hotel at age 42
Pastor Zachery Tims of New Destiny Christian Center found dead at Times Square W Hotel
A preacher who led one of the largest congregations in central Florida was found dead in a Times Square hotel, police sources said Sunday.

The body of Zachery Tims, 42, the senior pastor of New Destiny Christian Center in Apopka, was discovered in his 37th-floor room of the posh W Hotel on Broadway near W. 46th St. about 6 p.m. on Friday, the sources said.

It was not clear whether Tims was alone at the time of his death. The city's medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

-----------------

In 2009, Tims and his wife of 15 years divorced after the pastor admitted to having an affair with a stripper, according to the website Black Christian News.

12. It's a predominantly black, apostolic church that is very active in the community
I wouldn't guess that it has anything to do with Republicans.

Do 5 more take it's place?

Megachurch - pfft. I pity those who opened up their wallets and tithed to this holy man of God and got exactly what in return?

This wouldn't happen to be a Fundie church, would it?

ETA: Sorry if this comes off as cruel and kneejerkish. Perhaps that pastor and his church used it's donations wisely and helped the community become a better place.

14. exactly. is it a fundie church & 1 that coddles it's pastors, or 1 that cares about others
I'm checking out the post from above after writing this, but sadly, it's more than likely it's a house of being seen and living large as many of those mega-churches are. sad ending, for sure. wonder what the real story is.
