without any repercussions, so he told the TRUTH! Congress is full of millionaires that give daily handjobs to billionaires and piss on the working class. What is Congresses approval rating at now? 19%?

You can't be a billionaire when everyone else in your social class is trying to be a Trillionaire.
Basically, he knows they're killing the foundation our society is built on. No foundation, and what will happen?

10. To assholes like Pat Buchanan |
|
who said on Morning Joe that Buffet and other billionaires of like mind who want more taxes should just donate them voluntarily: taxes cannot be voluntary. Everyone in America, rich poor and in between want a free lunch (especially the rich). No one would pay taxes if they were voluntary.

14. If you had enough money to hire a passel of tax lawyers... |
|
... your taxes could be voluntary too.
I think he said it because it's true, but also because he has no downside in saying it. His ass is covered and now that he is entering his twilight years, perhaps he's looking around at what this country has become, comparing it to the land of opportunity that it was when he was a youngling, and mourning the loss.
Or perhaps, it's just a ploy to keep the rest of the almost wealthy the time it will take to protect their hoard like he has protected his in a charitable - zero tax - trust.
Who cares? It's the message that counts.

19. A long long time ago, the very wealthy in America used to make large donations to their government |
|
Not so much today. Instead, they make charitable contribution which become tax deductions.
How do I make a contribution to the U.S. government?
Citizens who wish to make a general donation to the U.S. government may send contributions to a specific account called "Gifts to the United States." This account was established in 1843 to accept gifts, such as bequests, from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States. Money deposited into this account is for general use by the federal government and can be available for budget needs. These contributions are considered an unconditional gift to the government. Financial gifts can be made by check or money order payable to the United States Treasury and mailed to the address below.
Gifts to the United States U.S. Department of the Treasury Credit Accounting Branch 3700 East-West Highway, Room 622D Hyattsville, MD 20782

22. Donating to a good charity would be better than donating it to the government. |
|
Since the government it going to spend about half of it on the military. Buffet is right, of course, taxes on the super rich should be much higher.

12. Obama won't save capitalism - so Buffett is going to do it for him. |

Make no mistake, Buffett knows exactly what he is doing (and which billionaires they'd come after if riots break out here). It's kind of fun to watch him shake in his boots.

15. A lot of cynicism here... |
|
It's possible to be filthy rich and still be liberal and a decent human being. I think Warren Buffet is one. He's 81 years old and has promised to give away 99% of his wealth to charity anyway. He's not worried about some economic or social meltdown hurting his wallet. He just knows it's the right thing to do. I think his character is being unfairly impugned here.

16. Simple- he respects the system that allowed him to become |
|
fabulously wealthy and doesn't want to see it destroyed by the banksters and speculating greedheads, who will crash the whole thing into a mountain if given the chance. Like FDR, he wants to save the system from itself. That and the fact that he seems to have a sense of proportion and basic justice.
