4. Or at least try to get jobs bills passed in congress. |
|
If they don't, people will see he's trying and that we need support in congress.

10. That's more likely because he is really running out of time... |
|
he's got 14 months to lead the gov't into doing something that significantly reduces unemployment.
A fair amount of that time will be wasted with the supercommittee hacking away at spending...which will further the perception that a jobs package can't be done because of its expense.
He can TRY to move something, he controls that part of the equation.

13. That is exactly the way to go. |
|
It is unlikely that anything the president proposes will go far in the Congress, but he will then have the proof that it is the Repubublicans who are holding this country back. Let him submit the proposals and then DARE the Republicans to vote againstthem it. Then, when they do, he will have some ammunition to show the country how despicable they really are.

3. Its just his "campaign mode". The president's words mean nothing anymore. He will say anything to |

anybody just to gain a point here or there. Its his actions one has to look to to gauge his support for the "base". And lately there doesn't seem to be any change in course there.

21. The bully pulpit needs some villains. |
|
As the NYT piece said and Ed reiterated it last night, call. them. out. They do have names. They sound like, "Republicans, Boehner, McConnell, Ryan," etc. What's with the, "Some in Washington..." schtick? They call Obama out BY NAME and he responds by tangential, inferential slights? :wtf:

15. He gives good speeches and often there it ends. I've often said he |
|
tells people what they want to hear (like most politicians), but then that's called Obama bashing to point out reality. It seems to me anymore his base is wall street, banksters and some mega corporations. In our corrupt political system politicians look for where the money comes from, and that's not from the people in need, and probably not the majority of the democrats. So, it comes from the aforementioned and hence they get his support.
Until we fix the corrupt political system in this country and do public financing of elections, and dump Citizens United, nothing is going to change in the US, and it's really delusional to think change is coming. About the only change we're going to see is more people living on the streets and in poverty. And jobs aren't coming back, that is another delusion, to think jobs are coming back to the US under the current paradigm.
The system is rigged. Wall street, banksters and some mega corporations run this country. When you have a few percent of the population controlling the majority of the wealth in a failed capitalistic system for the masses, how can anyone think the masses run the system.

8. Yes, he's finally focused on jobs... |
|
Unfortunately the only job he seems to be willing to fight for or get confrontational over is his own.
Too little. Too late. In fact it almost makes it worse that NOW, after all the smoke has cleared and the damage has been done, and he's caved on anything and everything that could be caved on, that NOW he starts to fight and get confrontational.

It's really insulting.

when george w. moron* spoke, I would turn off his whiny drone. I couldn't stomach his* overt stupidity.
now, when Obama speaks, I just get sick to my stomach over being had.
I haven't listened to him speak since the SoTU.
I just read his many many many speeches. It gets so down right depressing. The same crap over and over. the same wonderment as to why the repukes don't negotiate or compromise, etc.
I'm really tired of it all.
now that election season is upon us, all of them want to create jobs. the repukes spout off bullshit regarding their fabricated job creation numbers and Obama now wants to create jobs.
all the while during this mud slinging fight, only we the people get covered in it. Only it's not mud and smells a lot worse.
Those without jobs continue to go without jobs, those who try to make ends meet, continue to try and make ends meet, the corporations continue to make record profits and cry poverty, yet nothing changes.
the beltway morons no nothing of our plight. They live in the Potomac bubble of oz.
