It seems to me that OFA should make up its mind: if it "doesn't need the Left," then...
why not stop with the "Teabagger in the White House" rhetoric -- if they really aren't needed, Obama will win regardless, and nobody needs to worry about Teabaggers in the White House.

On the other hand, if it really is true that the "histrionics of the Left" could put a teabagger in the white house, perhaps OFA should think about not alienating the Left.

A modest proposal.

7. Does it concern you at all that you are just making stuff up?
This is the kind of crap that republicans did to their followers, they just made their own version of reality independent of facts, logic, or sanity and the zombies swallow whole it up and regurgitate it without ever questioning just how stupid it is the crap they are spewing.

8. Just because my citation of facts makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean they aren't 100% true.
80-85% of liberal Democrats approve of Obama, in basically every poll taken. Just because you don't like that, or wish it were not the case, does not make it untrue. You should take your own advice about not constructing alternative realities.

12. You know, posting a poll that shows vast supermajorities of liberals and Democrats supporting Obama
is not the best piece of evidence for the argument you are making.

13. The point I'm making ...

Is that Obamas numbers among Liberals dropped 14 pts in one month. And that was before his latest epic cave to the crazies. It was also before he put Social Security on the table in debt talks, even though SS has never contributed one penny to the deficit.

If the president were to go after our enemies half as much as he kicks his base, we would all be better off.

5. OFA knows nothing but snark, name calling, and other negative
bully like tactics. It gets old and tired and dull. They need to add some new material to their schtick.

15. There's always an awkward oscillation in Third Way messaging, isn't there?
Edited on Fri Aug-19-11 09:35 AM by woo me with science
You nailed it.

This is just like the perpetual tension and an oscillation between insisting that they support the same Democratic values as the rest of us ("He WANTS to defend Medicare and SS...The Congress just won't LET him!")...

...and accusing Democrats who expect actual defense of those values of being out of the mainstream and "wanting a pony."
