SAS Shoes MADE IN USA

Handcrafted Comfort.

San Antonio ShoemakersMost of our shoes are handcrafted moccasin construction. This means the soft upper leather wraps completely around your foot. Leather is an ideal upper material because it's breathable. It has the ability to absorb and wick away moisture.

Each moccasin upper is cut from the same leather type. The pieces are stitched together, the plug is handsewn in place and the shoe is handlasted on a last designed by the SAS Shoemakers.

The insole or foot bed is the layer on which your foot rests. It should match or conform to your foot as much as possible. San Antonio ShoemakersMost of our shoes have polyurethane soles that cushion your feet on millions of tiny air bubbles so you are literally walking on air.

At SAS, our commitment is to quality, fit and comfort. Please look over our line of products. We hope you find the shoe that is just right for you.
“We wish you comfortable walks, good health and happiness.”

4. Shame they are so expensive....
I went shoe shopping a few weeks ago. I wanted the SAS shoes, but purchased the Rockports for almost $60.00 less.

That $60 covered my telephone and DSL for a month. :(

5. If you have $100.+ to spend on walking shoes...do yourself a favor.
Try a pair of SAS. Hands down, the best-made, most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

I've been wearing this brand for over 30 years. Outlasts most other brands by years. Even my adult kids wear them.

6. My most comfortable shoes are SAS
They're worn out and that is one more reason to replace them with the same. I think I got about 12 years out of this pair and I'm hard on shoes.

favorite SAS sandals are unwearable because they cannot accommodate motion control insoles. Amazingly comfortable but completely unwearable for me.

20. Fair enough.
I can't find comfortable shoes anywhere, except for the SAS and some of the New Balance styles. I was blessed with a very high arch and extremely wide feet (4E when I can get them).

So, for me, the extra $$$ spent is well worth it for the comfort and durability.

:hi:

22. I have the same problems.
High arches, wide feet, although not quite that wide. Our local independent shoe store sells SAS shoes, but I can't afford them at the moment. If I had the money, I'd buy a pair in a heartbeat.

24. Have you tried Ebay?
I've picked up 3 or 4 pair of SAS shoes for way less than half price. Once, I paid $20. for a brand new pair of black Free Times. Not exactly stylin', but what the heck.

If used doesn't bother you, there are quite a few bargains. You can always replace the insole.

Also, it looks like they have started making a more fashionable athletic shoe.

25. My poor old mother would beg to differ
There's a certain model of SAS shoe that is the *only* shoe she can hobble around in now. She's emphatic about it. Without these shoes, she simply can't walk.

11. SAS shoes are the best around for people who work "{on their feet"
and they are not expensive if you value your aching back& sore feet..

The only shoes I have ever worn that were more comfortable are Finn Comfort...but they are made in Germany..

SAS styles are a bit "stodgy", but that's also a plus because they never go out of style.. Their purses are indestructible.. (I still have & use some I bought 20 years ago)..

Look for an SAS outlet..prices are always better there..

SAS also has many widths

12. Exactly. When I taught junior high school
On my feet all day - I wore SAS penny loafers. One pair would last me two years. My feet never, ever hurt. When I had worn other brands, I always had foot problems. Not with SAS (I know, I sound like a commercial, LOL).

14. In 2003 SAS gave a year end bonus of $1,000 for each year worked to each
of the factory employees - some rec'd many thousands of dollars.

Miz O has been wearing SAS shoes for years - cost more than department store shoes, but they are comfortable and last a very long time.

I got one for my mom 3 yrs ago and she says that they are just as comfortable as the time I got it. They should now venture into making size 15s :). I sure could use one for myself

18. Yes, they are expensive. But SAS treats their employees well.
They are paid well, have good benefits, and even get year end bonuses. If I'm looking for comfortable shoes, I look at SAS.

Yeah, I could pay $30 for some plastic shoes made in China, but they'd fall apart.

23. Not to mention the owners decided to remain in Texas after their factory burned down
they knew they could use that as an excuse to outsource their manufacturing & lower costs, but they stayed in San Antonio.

21. I wear Allen Edmonds
I wear Allen Edmonds to work or when I care how my shoes look. When I don't care, I use SAS. They are very comfortable, but not very stylish.
