Fox News - "US liberals complain about Obama" - Another Progressive Leaning Story On Fox!
Could it be that Fox News is seeing the error of its right wing ways? Perhaps the departure of Glenn Beck was not a coincidence. Maybe Fox News is actually leaning to the left in airing a multitude of stories of the left's outrage at President Obama.

http://www.foxcarolina.com/story/15297825/liberals-complain-about-obama

Liberals argue that he gave in on the great debate over the debt ceiling. Unions are upset over his handling of unemployment and labor issues. Hispanics brought the immigration debate directly to his campaign doorstep.

President Barack Obama's summer of discontent has been marked by rumblings within his Democratic party political base over his willingness to fight congressional Republicans and his approach to fixing the economy.

Liberals disappointed with Obama for compromising with the Republicans during the debt-ceiling showdown now are calling on him to hold firm against Republicans this autumn. They want him to push a bold jobs agenda while drawing a strong line on taxes and protecting social benefit programs for the elderly.

In recent weeks, the gripes have become so loud that the president himself acknowledged them during his Midwest bus tour this week.

1. Of course Fox will jump on it and recognize how it will help
the Republicans.

2. Um, no.
They're fanning the flames so as to divide Democrats and the left for purely tactical reasons.

7. Jane Hamscher Agrees With You - "Why I Went on Fox and Friends"
Jane Hamscher here discusses the possibility of building a coalition between the right wing and left against the DLC/Third Way types.

I stand by that message, and I think it’s important for both people on the left and people on the right to hear. There’s a difference between helping to recruit Democratic viewers to Fox that they don’t have, and bringing a message about PhRMA that divides Republican viewers from the party leadership by pointing out the hypocrisy of their talking points.

If there are those who don’t want any criticism of PhRMA out there and have written things in the past that have been consistently in line with PhRMA’s propaganda, I think it’s fair to ask what their obsession is with shutting down the messenger.

I went on Ed Shultz last night, and Fox deliberately today after yesterday’s hubub. It scares the bejesus out of the DC establishment of both parties to think that the left and right might align against the corporate interests that dominate the massive giveaways that keep happening no matter who’s in power.

Good. They should be scared.

18. I love "left" wing alliances with Grover Norquist. Those are the kind of folks to trust.

6. Quit spamming.
This is your fourth thread on this topic in the last few minutes. The differences between the four are tiny.

One would almost suspect you of being something that hides under bridges, demanding money from billy goats.

10. Three posts are spam? Really? Have You Seen DU General?
Edited on Sun Aug-21-11 08:35 PM by TomCADem
If three posts on related topics are spam, then half of DU General would be wiped out. I posted just three to illustrate that the story I posted is not an isolated story on Fox News. I could post more, but I think I've made my point.

What is it that I am saying that is causing folks so much discomfort in just three OPs?

Is it the possibility that even the left is getting manipulated by the corporate media?

11. It's more possible that you're using FoxNews stories, which by the way,
no sane liberal would be citing to make a political point, to try to push the Democratic wing of the Democratic party out.

12. Yet, Why Would We These Progressive Sounding Stories Appear On Fox News?
This is the point that I have asked, and no one has offered an answer.

What's your thought?

13. I think they're not progressive sounding at all
A Fox News poll conducted last week found about eight in 10 Democratic voters said they would probably vote to re-elect the president.

"He will have a base problem until the time when an opponent emerges, and then 90 percent of the problem will disappear," said Democratic pollster Paul Maslin. "People will consider the opponent and then he'll look awfully good."

That to me sounds like more DLC/Third Way/Republican Coalition BS, sit down and shut up, eat your peas, vote for the guy you're told, or else nonsense.

16. You Are Right. Fox News Is Normally Heavily Slanted To The Right, Yet...
...They also repeatedlt provide an audience to folks who are willing to attack from the left, and repeatedly publish stories regaridng progressive dissatisfaction with Democrats, perhaps even more so than other mainstream outlets.

The object of my posts is to explore why.

...Remember the Lazio story? It was heavily kicked and recommended on DU, and DU is progressive, right?
