The fighting in Tripoli isn't even over yet.
Edited on Mon Aug-22-11 12:23 PM by LadyLeigh
Shouldn't we perhaps wait until, say, there are no longer explosions, machine guns and tanks in the city before we throw a party?

Maybe we should also wait until the bodies are counted to determine how huge that party should be...

1. Well, also, just cause Tripoli is taken don't mean this war is over.

2. So you are telling the people in Tripoli not to celebrate?
The disaster you predicted has not happened by the way... and right now they have control of 80 to 80% of the city...

8. Low intensity warfare leads to dead bodies
Edited on Mon Aug-22-11 12:27 PM by nadinbrzezinski
but you predicted total war, that leads to tens of thousands of bodies, if not millions. Yes there is a difference...

I don't expect you to get it either.

10. "tens of thousands"
may or may not be a realistic figure. We will see.

13. To me that is quite a large number.
May or may not get larger.

And to accuse me of being "disappointed" is quite an insult.

15. Alas in the reality of warfare it is not
actually casualties have been quite low.

Alas you wanted, or predicted total war... it has not occurred.

Total war does not lead to this.

Now this is what total warfare looks like

None was celebrating.

In fact I do not even know what your point is. The battle for Tripoli is not over yet so I am right and it will indeed be a catastrophe?

You practically opened an OP to tell us how you were soooo right (even though you are not) and you expect a respectful exchange?

16. That's fine. The people in Tripoli are throwing their own parties themselves.
They don't really need your help.

And they're the ones who may have family members among those bodies in the streets, so they can deal with that part, too.
