And we already know their target audience- our disaffecteds and nonvoters, people too lazy or uninvolved to actually be part of a political party.

10. I watched it also. May I say the following as a caveat before passing |
|
my opinion. Since they have been so secretive, this makes them automatically suspect.
It sounds like a bunch of '"elites" have quietly observed two ineffective parties and have said 'OMG, we do not have parties who can lead this country in such troubled times. The Republicans have been taken over by what appears to be a bunch of crazies, who do not understand Government and worse yet want to get rid of government, and a completely impotent Democratic Party,so divided within itself that they cut their own President off at the knees. Conservadems rule and can hardly be distingished from the Republicans. Anything the Republicans say the Conservadems say "Me TOO".
Making these observations they have decided that a better way might be for their group or some group put out a reasonable Candidate for President who in their opinion might be able to get something done to turn this country aound.
There is a serious problem with their thinking. Our Presidancy is not a monarch. The Congress(House and Senate) have power and they can render any President impotent. If they think the Media can pull the wool over the country's eyes as with Ronald Reagan, they are completely out of touch with reality. The New Technologies (internet, Twitter etc) have changed America forever. Now this little old lady sitting in Ohio knows when they spike stories and can quickly decipher where they are trying to go with the stories they do select.
Just running a Presidential Candidate as alternative to what we have from the two Parties is not enough. He/She must have a following of supporters. No one can put a Candidate --however attractive--and say America this is what we think is good for you.
Perhaps this group might do better by standing up in Public and calling out both Parties for their failures. Come out of the shawows and make your voices heared. This way you might get real followers.

14. Who pays, who profits, who decides? |

Who would benefit most from sucking away the population most likely to engage online rather than in real life? I'm guessing this was designed to pull young people away from the Democrats.
We shall see, but I'd fight this down to the wire in every state. They are already on the ballot in California??? Sweet Jesus.

17. The goal of this group is to pull young people away from the Democratic party |
|
They know that the Demographics of the youth are going to bury the Republicans in the next couple decades, and there only hope is to split them up between Democrats and a "third party" candidate.
This is a subversive RIGHT-WING effort. They know they can't appeal to young people with the GOP in its current state of right-wing nutbaggery, so they want to spin them off from the Democrats to give the GOP a fighting chance.
Similar to how right-wing groups funded Ralph Nader's run in 2004... to try to pull some votes from Kerry.
