How Barack Obama's approval rating among democrats stack up to other Dem presidents...
at similar times in their presidencies:

According to Gallup's presidential job approval data,
Obama had a 78 percent approval rating among Democrats from July 18 to
July 24, 2011. Bill Clinton, meanwhile, had a 77 percent approval rating
among Democrats from July 20 to July 23, 1995. Before him, Jimmy Carter
had a 37 percent approval rating among Democrats from July 13 to July
16, 1979. Before him, Lyndon Johnson had a 63 percent approval rating
among Democrats from July 13 to July 18, 1967. Before him, John F.
Kennedy had a 77 percent approval rating among Democrats from July 18 to
July 23, 1963. And before him, Harry Truman had a 76 percent approval
rating percent among Democrats from July 4 to July 9, 1947.

Wow! poor Jimmy Carter--only 37% approval among dems in July, 1979--no wonder Teddy Kennedy wanted to run against him.

1. Interesting info, but...
That might be the most inaccessible format possible for presenting the data.

4. Agreed, Indies, and Swing Voters. But the info is interesting, because
the data goes against the conventional DU narrative. Per DU, All Democrats hate Obama and want him primaried.

5. True
But you have to realize that we have been invaded by a lot of right wing trolls, and we still have a lot of people who have not forgiven president Obama for "winning" the nomination back in 2008!

I think we will see a whole lot more from the right wing coming in and trying to stir up trouble, and spewing right wing talking points while encouraging people to once again "stay" home and not vote for one reason or another.

After seeing what happened in 2010 when people decided to "teach Obama a lesson", I would think that any one on the left would be voting no matter what in order to keep republicans from taking over more states, the WH, and congress. We know their agenda and no matter what people may think of president Obama, the idea of a country led by republicans would mean certain disaster for our country! I just hope people think long and hard before deciding "not" to vote next year.

6. The republicans have already taken over.
They always get their way. In all 3 branches. And I always vote. I wish it was as simple as making Democratic voters feel guilty. It's not their fault.

9. 77% is still a pretty low number.
He can't win if he doesn't get 95+%. Ask Al Gore if you don't believe me.

And one thing that poll doesn't ask is 'how strong is the dislike for those that don't support him'.

8. Can you follow up with the % of Americans who were Democrats at those times?
I believe that you'll find an important bit of info when you do that.
