It doesn't remotely imply that all white people are bigots, especially in the context of a discussion about Obama--who, quite clearly, has a substantial component of opposition based on bigotry.

Another difference is that it makes some sense to suggest that a bigot would be less likely to vote for the African-American candidate. It doesn't make any sense to suggest that a freeloader would be more likely to vote for the African-American candidate.

As far as your freeper equivalent goes I think you are mistaken. Your example somehow equates freeloading with blacks. My statement equates bigotry with being unfair to someone based on race. That is one of the things that defines bigotry. My statement makes sense while your example doesn't.
