Are Current TV and “Countdown” going to be available in high-definition (HDTV)?

Current TV is currently offered in standard-definition only. We are actively working with our distributors to provide a high-definition channel in the near future.

On DISH the channel is moving from 196 to 294.

1. Don't know....

I have Comcast and it's pretty crappy. I don't get nice channels like HDNET, RT, and AlJazeera. But because it a small startup company, they may not have sufficient funds. Additionally even though their programs are great, there is a lot of repeats. Not that you don't get repeats on other networks but Current has considerably more.

2. I wouldn't count on it being available in HD on most providers

within 5 years. It takes awhile for the providers to clear space or add additional capacity for HD.

3. Not necessarily....

They have a bunch of crappy channels like OWN and TV Guide Channel. It's probably more a financial decision, but agree it will be HD eventually.
