Could Irene become the economic stimulus? |
|
Or, will the pukes resist the cleanup and repair?

1. Well, its probably not going to be that major of a storm. |
|
And, I don't think Katrina cleanup proved to be a major economic stimulus. More of a drag on the system overall.

2. New York will get cleaned up. |
|
Rich people live there, unlike New Orleans.
There probably won't be the same kind of damage, but there certainly will be a lot of it.

5. The jobs that are going to be created |
|
by the Irene cleanup and repair require skills that don't match those of most unemployed folks. And they are temporary.
This economy will not be fixed by adding summer jobs. We need long-term permanent jobs paying good wages.
