It is CHANGE or DIE
America's wealth and prosperity is no longer sustainable on the basis of the the old paradigm.

It is CHANGE or DIE, and if you people here who constantly blame the President alone for the ills of the planet don't wake up you are condemning all of us to another decade of a Rick Perry/Mitt Romney/Michelle Bachmann ignorance and corruption.

I shall personally fight you ALL to the death to prevent that from happening. President Obama's second term is the best chance the entire world has of slowly recovering our equilibrium.

I have nothing left to lose but to fight to the death, my own.

1. Someone forgot their prozac!
No one with any braincells wants Rick Perry to be our next POTUS. That's just stupid.

4. If the word "electRed" existed...
as in 'electr-ically select-ed' I would use it to describe what really happened. Although it's true the contest was close enough to let it happen. This and the tens of millions who either 'would not' vote, 'would' vote but 'could not' vote, and those who voted but whose votes did not 'count'.

Maybe the dictionary needs to be updated, but I think we all agree here it shouldn't, and that paper and pen should be used.

7. Exactly right.
And, look at all the places that keep re-electing these shitbags like Cantor, Bachmann, Jean Schmidt, Virginia Foxx, Mitch the Bitch McConnell, Diaper Dave Vitter... This hellhole where I live keeps sticking Congress with Jim DeMented, that clown whose lips are glued to McCain's asshole (Lindsay Graham), Joe YouLie Wilson, and these new assholes in the House who run to the chapel and pray to their invisible friend in the clouds for "guidance", rather than asking their constituents what they want. And, the majority of their constituents are just fine with it. Can't get much more stupid than that.

It's not that we want Perry, it's that we deserve better than Obama
and many of us will not be blackmailed by threats of a republican president to vote for 4 more years of shit we don't want!

17. Hmmm
If you think that Obama is "shit you don't want" what will you call bachman or perry??? If you do not vote you have no complaint coming, if you vote for perry or bachman (or whoever they end up nominating) you get what you deserve.... I seriously thought that the days of holding my nose and voting for the lesser of two evils were over but once again I will do so because he is in fact magnitudes better than the alternative.

21. The system is broken
when our only choices are batshit crazy republicans like bachman and perry - or a republican posing as a Dem in Obama. if we accept this - if we vote FOR 4 more years of his pro-corporate betrayal - do you think we will ever get a progressive Dem? no way in hell - if people want more like Obama, you better believe that's what we will get. and i will not be a part of that. maybe it will take 4 year of bachman to wake people up. hell i thought it would have happened after Bush jr. i should have known better than to underestimate human stupidity. if both "normal" choices are bad, logic dictates one must then step out of one's comfort zone and pick a 3rd option.

22. your right to do so
Show me a viable alternative, never ever vote for any rethug nor will I do anything to aid or abet them.... You know as well as I do were we would be if perry or bachman got elected, you think this has been bad? This is a cakewalk compared to what we had with shrub, shamey or could have with the current options they have out there on the right.

3. This must be from the future, sometime after the Democratic nominee has already been selected.
If that's the case then I guess I agree, except for the part where there is no alternative but to wave goodbye to a decent standard of living for the US middle class.

5. No, there is an alternative, but the problem is it's kind of
harder for too many to use. That alternative is harder because the achievements usually don't happen overnight. It may take weeks, if not months, or even years, but for a country of 330 million people, it won't happen next week. Work at it. The world will be watching you and supporting you, but it takes time, and costs some dough (food, clothes, etc).

6. I understand it takes time but my biggest problem is we're going in the wrong direction.
I agree with the goals at the website you linked. But it's not getting better, it's getting worse.

8. Yes. It's getting worse. What to do? What to do?
In all due respect, at this point, the last thing we need is to sit down and do nothing. That will just make it even worse. Not to say that it will not get worse before it'll get better though. Thank you.

The alternative is there now (including donations). It's already in the works.

If I felt he would fight for me instead of protecting Wall Street and capitulating to and embracing GOP ideas.

11. I don't think that anyone is blaming the president alone...
It is easy to figurehead the head of a party though, which is why it seems that way. Americans and DUers are plenty angry with Congress too. And the SJC for that matter. When we're talking about placing blame or credit on a national stage we look to the person who encompasses the entire nation, the president. That's not to say that national problems don't have impacts in states or districts, but that on a sounding board for the national stage (DU for instance) it is more commonplace to agree upon a collective target instead of only singling out individual members of Congress. IMHO of course.

13. Sometimes change is death if you lose your soul in the process.
Fight us to the death? Blame Obama alone? Words with little meaning. People who blame Obama alone are Republicans by nature. She needs to stick to soccer.

but this is all they have left now: ridiculous temper tantrums
and all the breath-holding and death threats in the world can't hide the fact that Obama serves the wealthy

that got Representative Gabrielle Giffords shot.

Why can't some people discuss policy and politics without violent hate speech?

20. Change would be good. We voted for that last time.
Edited on Sat Aug-27-11 04:32 PM by Jakes Progress
We crept incrementally away from the crazy right. But not enough to matter. The lady is right. If we don't get more change, the Democratic party will die.

Sounds a little cheney-like though with the death threats crap. This kind of speech is designed to make the speaker feel good about themselves. This kind of speech will never convince anyone who is thinking of not voting for Obama to vote for him. It is this kind of thinking and language that is driving people away when they could be brought in.

Mindless venting. Doing more harm than good.
