Watching Seven Days in May...
A great spell binder from the early sixties about a military coop.

You see there were right wing generals and opposition party conservatives who weren't at all happy with how the liberal president was handling things. They claimed he was weak on military concerns, an appeaser, so to speak.

Now what the hell does that remind me of...

1. Excellent movie
One that I am reminded of every time a teabagger talks of "taking our country back."

9. That film was almost certainly inspired by the "Business Plot".

There's a History Channel documentary on that attempted coup, that's somewhere on the internet as a video. Later, I'll try to find it.

On edit: Here's a DU thread, that goes into that Business Plot to some extent: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6150066

11. funny, just watched it myself yesterday.. tremendous film and timeless.
I had recorded it earlier from TMC a just got around to watching it yesterday. I had seen it before but it was a long time ago. Burt Lancaster is great as the crazed, "patriotic", "save America from the lefties" general. A must see film for all Americans.
