No, it was not a 100-year storm. In fact, it was a Bush Crime Family Disaster Capitalism you-know-what storm; but the U.S. is facing an unprecedented destruction of our values as typified in the New Deal of FDR. It might be unusually tough to get through this. We will have to be smart, to say the least.
