Not that I think it's that big a deal, but yes, of course it was hyped. |
|
Not the warnings, and not the actions by pols like Bloomberg- that's all defensible, but the MSM coverage was typical breathless crap and it was hyped to the max. After it had become clear that the storm was not going to be cataclysmic in terms of impact and loss of life, the MSM still covered it as if if that was the case.

3. I don't think this storm was overhyped |
|
As it could have gone either way within a 24 hour period.

6. The hype didn't bother me a bit. There were plenty of other.. |

shows to watch if you wanted to. I don't get why people are so pissed about the hype.

10. I don't understand either. |
|
The coverage I was watching didn't seem over hyped at all. We would watch it for awhile, then turn on something else. The thing could have gone either way.
We were very lucky. Lost power for only 2 1/2 hrs. Some flooding, there may be more when water from broken dams and such come down from Catskills.

11. Speaking of hyped, I never watch Faux News, but every time I skimmed by |
|
it with my remote this weekend the blurb identifying the show said "Hurricane Irene Coverage". Every time, for three days.
Did they really show nothing but Irene for 3 days?
