The former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell pledged Tuesday to testify against former Vice President Dick Cheney if he is ever tried for war crimes.

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson told Democracy Now‘s Amy Goodman that he would participate in a trial even if it meant personal repercussions.

“I, unfortunately — and I’ve admitted to this a number of times, publicly and privately — was the person who put together Colin Powell’s presentation at the United Nations Security Council on 5 February, 2003,” Wilkerson said. “It was probably the biggest mistake of my life. I regret it to this day. I regret not having resigned over it.”

In an interview that aired on NBC Monday, Cheney told Jamie Gangel that unlike President George W. Bush, he did not have a “sickening feeling” when they discovered there were no weapons of mass destruction after the invasion of Iraq.

3. Cheney's actions killed people unnecessarily. He KNEW his decisions were deadly yet
he made them anyway. Cheney and George Bush are murderers that have retired on my dime as if they have done nothing. They so far have gotten any with murder. I do not feel safe in my home or country because my government refuses to prosecute obvious criminals. My government refuses to protect my rights as a citizen and allows corporate criminals to decide what we the people are suppose to accept as just doing business.

I am more than outraged but I am only one person. I feel powerless and I know there are more than just me that feels this way.

4. Sounds like Cheney has put in motion with his own arrogance, the series
of events that will destroy him.

6. Cheney's knowledge of 9/11 needs to be brought into the light of day also.
"At some level of the government, at some point in time ... there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened ." --John Farmer, Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission and Attorney General of New Jersey

"If I had to narrow it down to one person ... I think my prime suspect would be Dick Cheney." --Dr. Robert Bowman, Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering from Caltech, former U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, and Director of Advanced Space Programs Development for the U.S. Air Force in the Ford and Carter administrations

it was a lie and that by the time the public got wise it would be way too late to stop it.

9. Dream on.
It would set a precedent.

You or I might think that's a good thing, but no one in power does. No one.

10. Are the 24 hour news cable stations covering this? (I don't have cable)
Because there doesn't seem to be a whole lot on the big 3 original networks (ABC, NBC and CBS- I mean).

And even though I'm seeing bit here and there in print and on the internet, this should be a MUCH bigger story imo.
