Today, dems need to yell loud and clear and counter any protest about Hoffa. Tea party has thin
skin and he wasn't talking about them. This is none of the President's business and we do not need an apology from him. It is being made into a major distraction ahead of the President's speech. Third world tactics continue.

1. Well, apparently not that much of a major distraction
I've yet to hear any media take on it. But then again I haven't turned on the TV news shows at all this weekend. Still, haven't heard a peep about this on NPR, the papers, etc. Just here:shrug:

3. Somehow, the teabaggers will get their apology
The teabaggers are experts at being offended and making a big ass stink about it.

4. The Media Distraction Game...
...that the corporate media sucks up every time. Someone says something that "hurts" the teabaggers or is "uncivil" and all hell breaks loose. Meanwhile right wingers can spew all the violent, racist, sexist and homophobic verbage and that's "politics". It's all a big distraction. The rushpublicans don't want the media to talk about jobs or the main points of yesterday's speech and the "poutrage" is to be expected. Watch this to happen at any opportunity the rushpublicans have to try to knock this administration off message and get the corporate media to play along.

5. Right. They have not pursued John Walsh for his insults to the President. Only left leaning
programs have even approached it. He has refused to apologize just giving some off handed remorse.

6. At least the mainstream media is covering Unions.
That's a huge step in the right direction.

7. But How Are They Covering Them?
I'd like to see CFAP (Center for American Progress) take a look at that. I'll bet most of the coverage is negative. Look at how they ignored a lot of what went on in Wisconsin unless it got very verbal or physical. The media's framing remains that unions are the problem not the solution. As long as that's the portrayal (and a shame considering how many of those telepundits carry AFTRA cards) the unions and their issues will not get a fair shake in the corporate media.

8. Persistent Clamping down on Free Speech from the Left and
having them support the RWers.

I would say having DeMint from South Carolina
say on Television that he does not even want
to watch the President's speech is much more
DAMAGING to the country. Open Disdain for the
President. A dog whistle to his constituents
--do not listen to the speech. Such absoluter
disrespect.

Cm'on can we stop being hypocrites. Over the
past vew years we know the language and conversations
are filled with H---, D----, oh we cannot miss
breath without a F--- U---. Yes SOB is thrown
around so often not even I blink an eye.

ANYONE WHOSE INTELLIGENCE LEVEL is near "normal"
Knew that Hoffa meant take them down from the
offices in the House and Senate.

As usual we watched our great Tabloid Channel
take a kernel of truth and edit it in such
a way as to create Conflict. My they are
good. Now everyone including some Duers
are going along.

We are getting close to closing down free-speech
The Right is expert at closing down the left.

Katrina Van Den Houvel reminded us this am.
Remember the time ARI FLEISHER speaking from
his podium--told us in very chilling terms
"Watch what you say".

9. Union people and especailly the Teamsters know how to do
this. Hoffa is not some politician who will be scared by the huffing and puffing of opposition nuts, he's a man who said what he said to make them huff and puff. While I do agree we should all have his back, I think you are too used to the milquetoast men in DC who vomit out apologies whenever a Republican inserts a coin's worth of whining. Water off a Teamster's back.

10. After the Giffords shooting, Obama called for "civility" in public disourse,
and for people to be "talking to each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/12/obama-urges-civility-in-public-discourse/

Why are you rejecting the President's calls? Why do you not support President Obama enough to honor his pleas? If you did, you'd call Hoffa and Biden out as being out of line. Why are you defending behavior that is a mirror image of the teabaggers?

Inquiring minds want to know.

economic recovery we had left. I watched them deliberately tank my 401k. I am watching them try to deny disaster victims FEMA funds so that they can kick more people out of needed programs. It's personal now. I want those sons of bitches taken OUT of office.

14. Fuck that
The right wing has well over 2 decades worth of apologizing to do for their goddamn mouthpieces like Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Savage et al , and I mean repeated and profuse apologies for all the vile, disgusting vitriol they have spewed at the left before we even THINK about apologizing for a fucking thing. Thet multi-billion propaganda machine they have erected had been running nonstop 24/7 for years blasting verbal assaults at us over the airwaves with little or no boundaries.

And then they pretend to be hurt because Hoffa called them sons of bitches.... puhleeze!! :eyes:

18. This is not about
Our President asking for civility!!!!! Its about the idea that Mr. Hoffa can't say as he believes.Be as bad as a Teabagger,I don't think so. Since you are New to the Game. I am going to help you out a little bit.
Everyone who belongs to DU already knows the Teabaggers are not real. We all know they are a Wealthy Group of individuals who have Willie Lynched the Country. They have cute little names that sound American as Apple Pie. These organizations are controlled by Wealthy individuals who Do Not want to part with any of their Wealth. They are angry White men who no matter what will ever be under the Leadership of a Black Man. Even if he is only half African American period. These wealthy organizations are the children of white supremacists. It is what it is. And I am tired of everybody acting as if you don't see it. To hell with being nice and civil about this matter. the President has not stepped out of civility. So he shouldn't have to Apologize for a Damn thing.
Heritage Foundation,Americans For Prosperity,Citizens United, Citizens for Patient Care,Freedom works,SarahPac,or any of the others have been non-stop in their pursuit to make our President Fail. So when you want civility in the mix, you need to take Teabaggers out and then it will be civil.

13. What is there to apologize for I ask?
It was not a complete quote.

“Everybody here has a vote,” Hoffa said Monday. “If we go back and we keep the eye on the prize. Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to America where we belong.”

It is clear he meant the politicians be voted out.
