Hoffa has shown us a way to get their attention. |
|
With an grateful acknowledgement to Fox News for leading the way. The repugs love to play this game of feigned outrage at every imagined slight, or in this case, of a media manipulated one.
What I think we could learn from this is how we can stay on control of framing the debate. Let us give them many more reasons to push their phony outrage with a series of well thought out accusations that in essence truthful but are emphasized with a lot of hyperbole. We should have spokespeople like Matt Damon to issue scathing insults about how our underfunded inner cities are a deliberate attempt to enslave minorities into a live of poverty. (OK, I am not very good at this, but something along those lines that creative people work on).
I think I read somewhere that the Karl Rove playbook states that you attack people by going after their strengths which is what the swiftboat people did to Kerry. Calling a war hero a coward. Well the tea party wants to abolish the department of education, Let us accuse them of promoting a plantation mind set. They want to cut social security and medicare. Accuse them of planning to kill off all the old people as a cost containment measure. If they enjoy using phony outrage as a tactical weapon, let us kill them with it. Metaphorically speaking.

Also, remember how upset they were at the ad showing Grandma going off the cliff in response to Ryan's Medicare *plan*? Such comments/ads are certainly shocking but crudely effective in the way that the right reacts to them even though they put stuff out there that is, in most cases, 100X worse.

Rents are typically higher, food costs are higher that is if you can find a grocery store, in fact most goods and services are higher, on top of all that taxes are typically higher via the city as well. Some would say they should just move, the problem is that it is very difficult to save the $2,000 dollar minimum needed to move, if you are already on a poverty income. Oh and wages are also lower in the city so unless you have a car or are willing to take a bus out to the burbs you are most likely going to be stuck in a low wage job.

3. As I've said often on here....... |

In politics in the 21st Century, passion sells. The RW has passion based on lies. What would passion plus TRUTH do to the political conversation? Maybe if we can keep this up, we'll find out.

4. We need to educate the people about what this fight is really about. |
|
And how it benefits 90% of Americans including their own self interests.

5. I really appreciate Fox highlighting this without them I would no have heard it. |
|
Mr. Hoffa was abundantly clear in what he said. Fox really helps the message every time they give it air time.
