Anyone else watching the Senate? |
|
Reid's opening remarks (although I only caught the tail end) was kind of meh.
McConnell, much to my dismay, is doing a much better job. He's laying out the facts, presenting his argument well, and I can see if some Joe off the street only listened to these two, McConnell would probably make the most sense.
I hope Obama says that "Senator McConnell opened the Senate charging we had not created one new job. Senator McConnell neglected to explain that X number of proposals have been submitted to Committee and Speaker Boehner never even allowed them to come to the floor for a vote. How can we pass any legislation when the House won't give the Congress anything to vote on?"
Something like that. Because McConnell's spin is good - full of lies and half-truths, but the final package is neat and tidy.

1. Watching the Senate is painful |
|
About 2/3 of them are doddering old fools that should be in a facility with better care.
Their procedure for voting has to be the most inefficient that a legislative body can implement.
