Luckily, the volunteer MFD (Mod Fire Department) put it out sometime in the early afternoon. Response time was a little slow, but it was eventually contained and starved of oxygen.

9. I'm originally from Texas and have always said that it would be

nice if Texans would travel just a little out of their own state and see what other states have to offer. Then maybe you wouldn't embarrass your own selves bragging about Texas. I'm in Ca and we have more cattle than Texas for Christ's sake. And you'll find no better firefighters than we have right here and we know how to treat them really good, not slash their budget so they can't do their jobs. In 2007, 30% of all houses sold in DFW, Austin, and Houston were purchased by Californians. DFW and IAH are major airport hubs. Do you really think people in Texas don't leave Texas?

I hope Texas gets all the federal help it needs to fight those fires AND mitigate dire ramifications of the drought.

However, I have no problem raking Perry over the hot coals.

You Texas people have my deepest sympathies. I would never hate on Texas. Molly Irwins came from there (not born there, but was raised there), Ann Richards was born there. There are so many wonderful people in Texas! Don't let assholes like Rick Perry destroy Texas. (Gov. Rick Scott is trying to destroy Florida and he's not even from there! Ugh!)

McCain won only one large city: Ft.Worth.
