Wensleydale Sorry? Mousebender I like a nice dance - you're forced to. Quick cut to a Viking. Viking (broad Northern accent) Anyway. . . . . . . . . Mousebender It's not much of a cheese shop really, is it? Wensleydale Finest in the district, sir. Mousebender And what leads you to that conclusion? Wensleydale Well, it's so clean. Mousebender Well, it's certainly uncontaminated by cheese.

When they showed photos of the hijackers a day after the event, I smelled a rat. And, they knew at that point that there were supposed to be 20 of them, instead of 19. WTF? They knew all that within a day of an allegedly "surprise" attack? Really? And, I was supposed to support this ratbastard? Nope. No way. No how.

Several tenets we always cling to:
1) Major difference in the two parties (Even though namby pamby idiots try to point out that under both parties, jobs are outsourced, endless unwinnable wars are extended, repressive tax policies, bank give aways that amount to tens of trillions of dollars, et al.)
2) Democracy is alive and well - at least for the upper 1.5% !!

I've felt the sickest Shame in my country since the day he was elected.. I just couldn't believe it happened. But then it happened again.
This is no melodrama, it's 100% true, I have lost my faith in humanity forever. Yes, there are some great people, but the majority are monstrous and that violent majority will win, will beat the Earth into an unrecognizable rock. George Bush's election is a part of the disaster, he's just a clear sign of the nature of our species. I'm sooo glad every day to be a day older. Soon I'll be 41, thank goodness. Well there is very little Goodness to thank..

Rice (the '2 serving' entry is good for me, but I only eat once to occasionally twice/day) Butter (sparingly, low fat) Vanilla Flavoring (I confess, I use over 2 ounces!) Sugar (or equivalent, I prefer SitR) Pumpkin Pie Spices (more than a dash, less than a half teaspoon) Milk (to cool the whole thing off and spread the yummy goodness to the far reaches of the bowl!)
Mix in various amounts until ever-so-slightly-soupy, stir, and enjoy! :) My perennial favorite. I love ANYTHING I can put vanilla flavoring in. For added fun, substitute rice with oatmeal and/or CoCoWheats or Cream of Wheat!
Okay, so I'm not spectacular with recipes...but seriously, this is yummy.

Small d, posts I have ever seen in my life. And that includes the infamous aol boards.
That.s something
Obligatory recipe, peach pie
Ingredients
10 fresh peaches, pitted and sliced 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup white sugar 1/4 cup butter 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie Directions
Mix flour, sugar and butter into crumb stage. Place one crust in the bottom of a 9 inch pie plate. Line the shell with some sliced peaches. Sprinkle some of the butter mixture on top of the peaches, then put more peaches on top of the the crumb mixture. Continue layering until both the peaches and crumbs are gone. Top with lattice strips of pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes, or until crust is golden. Allow pie to cool before slicing. Best when eaten fresh.

69. I am still one of the original 10%ers, too. I saw through that ignorant silver spoon tyrant from |
|
the day I first saw him picking his damn nose at the stadium in Texas! And, may it be a lesson for those that were 90%ers to not be part of any crowd that supports warfare today just because we're told this or that by the powers that be...

104. My loathing for him was born of two incidents... |
|
One, the "interview" he had with an anchor-guy on a Boston TV station where the anchor asked him some questions about world events, etc., and W came back at him with defensive sarcasm accompanied by a nasty sneer.
Two, the smirky mocking of Karla Faye Tucker just before her execution.
His mannerisms and attitude embodied those of just about every drunk I ever knew. I loathed him from those days on. And I was right. He turned out to be as bad as I figured he would be.

170. yes, W's gonna be a bitter old bastard for even his wife to be around as he ages, you can just tell |
|
from the way he's been so condescending over the years with so many people. I won't forget how he has treated people, and even though time makes people forget, as the news people have been saying (in reference to the cheering for him), I won't forget - he's an idiot! President Obama is light years ahead of him in class! I only wish we could have had President Gore from 2001-2009... http://www.zazzle.com/republicans_2012_keeping_millions_out_of_work_bumper_sticker-128002960205017719

Regardless of this particular OP, do you not think someone that once supported a republican could change? Aren't we the party of accepting people, and educating them away from republican policies?

Right after the attacks 80% of Democrats rallied behind the leader of the US, but it was short lived. That doesn't violate any DU rules.

62. If the Good Guys are only going to be the 10% who didn't fall for the Bushies, |
|
you're not gonna win many elections.
The key is to convince people and bring enough to our side that we get above the magic 50% and start winning.
I'll admit it. For a time, I was among the 90%, then people talked sense into me.

181. U.S. population in 2000 was 281,421,906. Ten percent is 28 million. |
|
28 million people disagreed with Bush on 9/11 and the days afterward. DU has far fewer than 28 million posters so yes, it is conceivable that the vast majority of DUers were among the 10%.

I really wish I could be as cool in the face of unprovoked bashing, slams, and insults as he is.
As many times as people trash him, he never comes back with rudeness of his own. I think we could all learn something from that.
What else amuses me...people who claim that his posts are a waste of time, but apparently won't take the two seconds required to put him on ignore so they never have to deal with him again.
Really...why don't you just put him on ignore?

I hated anything and everything Bush. I believed that even when he said something I agreed with, what I perceived as insincerity negated the value of any positive thing he did. A look back tells me that many people supported the presidency without endorsing all of Bush's policies. Seeing the kind of disrespect that congress and the public have shown Obama leads me to believe that at least some of those 90% had it right. Many people appreciated the position he was in, without believing everything domestic and every foreign policy move afterwards were good ideas. I would have written them off as naive idiots at that time, but now I think that my blind hate may blocked critical thinking as much as unconditional hero worship would.
It's not fair or reasonable to hold it against you or anyone else.

167. Ouch. Big of you to admit. |

At first glance, Bush being a flaming coward and sitting there while the country was attacked, then running across the country, is bad enough. But then when you reflect for awhile and think about the fact that there were only two people in the world who benefited from 9/11 - Bush and Osama bin laden - how can you still favor the idiot?

After all, it made sense to rally behind the President right after such an attack. But anyone with any sense at all quickly realized what was really going on.

You need to lay off awhile and give everybody else a chance to catch up. Like six years or so.

189. I bet if you polled people now, far more than 10% would say they disapproved of Bush after 9/11 |
|
It's the same way far more people said they voted for McGovern after Watergate than his total vote percentage.
That said, what's the point of this thread?
