Get the Attorneys in Place. Now. |
|
Anybody not born yesterday knows that, if Obama wins reelection with less than 310 electoral votes, the Repulsives will launch a fucking battalion of lawyers challenging the results in every damn state the President won by 50,000 votes or fewer.
I hope the White House has a shitload already retained for just this one purpose.

Who would be in charge of that? I don't have a lot of faith in Holder, so I hope it's not him.
We need some Nancy what's-her-names pit bulls on this.

I'm more concerned about what repugs are doing NOW in the States re: hampering voting/registration, AND what they WILL DO to STEAL another presidential election.

horrific -- Third Reich kind of stuff IMO! God, I hope this administration is all over it! I don't know if the Fed gov can do something in each State, district, but they sure as hell can get on the Senators and Congresspeople to kick it up back home, don't you think?
At this rate, if they're all successful, there will be nothing to steal from the election.
They learned THEIR lesson, they got caught so switched their tactics. PLEASE let us have learned ours!

5. Do you think he will get that many electoral votes? I don't |
|
Just looking at the political landscape, I don't think he has a chance (unless Perry is the Republican candidate).
Look at the states that went for him that will almost certainly go back. Indiana 11 votes (you know as well as I that he has no chance in 2012 here) Ohio 20 votes Florida 27 votes North Carolina 15 votes Virginia 13 votes Iowa 7 votes
Thats 93 votes that are almost impossible for him to win this time that he won in 2008. The best bet for Democrats is to run another candidate (Hillary).

Indiana will revert to its Redness, as will North Carolina. But I think Obama can still retain the other states you mentioned.

8. Obama Voter Protection team |
|
The DNC has a good database on Democratic lawyers who are willing to help. I was on the Obama voter protection team in 2008 and have already been contacted about working again in 2012. I was also one of the 3000+ lawyers who went to Florida in 2004 for Kerry Edwards voter protection.
In 2004 and 2008, the DNC was successful in stopping some of the GOP efforts at voter suppression. The DNC has maintained an injunction in place against the RNC since 1983 on voter caging and voter suppression and that injunction is not scheduled to expire for some time.
There will be lawyers on the ground in key states. The real issues will be things like voter id laws and games like changing how electoral votes are allocated such as the proposal to change Penn. law.

We supposedly had "teams of lawyers" ready to pounce on any Republican poll worker that even looked at a potential voter in an odd way...

because they promised they would. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2004-11-03/news/18282634_1_kerry-headquarters-exit-polls-countedWhen I woke up, it was to a Dem folding like a cheap suit. It made me sick to my stomach. If they ever had the lawyers, it was just for show.
