BofA worker stole $579K to avoid Vallejo's 'slums'in/artic
A former Bank of America employee was sentenced Wednesday to more than two years in federal prison for transferring more than a half-million dollars to her own account to avoid what her attorney called a return to "the slums of Vallejo."

Abigail Tambac Tonsager, 36, of Vallejo pleaded guilty to bank fraud in June. She admitted that she transferred $579,652 from various accounts to an account in her maiden name from 2002 to 2010.

To cover her tracks, Tonsager created false documents showing the return of money to a bank customer but listing her own bank account number.

1. This foolish woman violated
the cardinal rule: The best way to rob a bank is to own it. Merely working in a bank does not qualify.

3. Vallejo is not a slum.
It has a mix of neighborhoods, none of which I would call a slum.
There is working class and middle class homes in the area.
Some are areas there are very attractive.

"The median income for a household in the city was $47,030, and the median income for a family was $53,805. Males had a median income of $40,132 versus $32,129 for females. The per capita income for the city was $20,415. About 7.7% of families and 10.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.2% of those under age 18 and 8.9% of those age 64 or over."

5. don't know what vallejo is but c'mon
i avoid the slums with way less than $570,000, you can usually avoid the slums with a cheap toyota, a tank of gas, a $19 kmart tent, and a few hundred to a few thousand dollars to hit the open road

this is not stealing bread to feed your family, this is just greed

you can avoid the slums with a small sum of money needed to keep on the open road if you have half a brain...

6. It's not Beverly Hills, but I don't think the residents of Vallejo consider their hometown a slum.
