exchange between my BF and a "I work hard so other people can get free stuff they need to get a job and support themselves and keep their hands off my tax dollars" asshole, who basically just stated that people European countries give up freedoms so they can get free stuff, and that we have a constitution that gives us freedoms, unlike European countries. So, basically, he is saying we are the only ones with any rights and that we(the USA) are the only ones that even have a constitution. I am pissed because the original commenter is not on my "friends" list, so I can't comment. Some people have such a fucked up world view it drives me absolutely CRAZY!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: By the way the BF is doing a decent job but he is working so he cant rebut the comments. ARG! I really hate people that complain about there taxes going to the poor, but never mention a friggin word about corporate welfare. I am getting sicker and sicker by the moment. I don't know if I will be able to make it through the election cycle with out ending up in a padded room! Thanks I just need to vent! Oh just wanted to add that I also get very upset because these people completely dismiss the WORKING POOR!
Edited for typos and such.

Our society certainly seems to have drunk from an enormous vat of really powerful Kool-aid.

3. You can always friend the sucker for a while. |

It's also a known fact that 50% of the people have a below average IQ. I know what you mean. Sometimes I friend them, leave a comment, then unfriend them just as quickly, so that I don't have to listen to their bovine fecal matter.

I "unfriended" a guy from high school recently, after I basically told him why he was a complete idiot in the thread.
I don't know if I'm going to make it through this election cycle either. I hate elections, living in a red state, they aren't good times for me.

5. The worst part is we don't spend a lot of money helping the poor |

And Europeans enjoy pretty much the same freedoms as Americans.
Just comment on your bf's page and they will be able to see it.

6. Don't engage, just be persistent |

The NIMBY will either get it now or get it when it's laid off, but arguing with it most likely won't accomplish anything. I post around a dozen updates a day re: Occupy Wall Street on FB; some respond, many don't, but everyone sees it unless they're blocking me, in which case I simply unfriend them.
There's no reliable way to tell if someone is blocking you, but it becomes fairly evident after a while; you can always send that person a friendly 'hello' message and see if they respond...
