The many successes of Occupy Wall Street

"Generating attention to an issue that the Beltway wants to go away, building support among disparate groups the old-fashioned way, supporting local workers who might otherwise feel isolated, and breathing oxygen into alternative outlets. The OWS movement has been racking up some really important successes.

What's not to like?"

“Young people face a bleak future with high unemployment and minimum wage jobs. Public sector workers face mayors and governors who demand massive wage benefits or face thousands of layoffs….One out of six Americans lives in poverty today, and the richest one percent control more wealth than at any time since th Gilded Age of the 1920’s…

We support the Wall Street protesters and their goal to reduce inequality and support every American’s right to a decent job, health care, and retirement security.”

15. Hmm. You got me. Thanks truedelphi, thanks kpete!
Of the two threads I'd be reading on this topic, I replied here to kpete's.

Only excuse for misattention: I'm on the road, connecting sporadically, recently seperated from my ex-'common-law wife' after 27 years. Me, I immdiately passed through 3 weeks at a detox, anti-addiction clinic on the island of Mallorca after all the stress, and am not clean and going straight. She continues as an untreated increasingly disfunctional alcoholic with far too much money for her own good.

But, I shouldn't bore folks with this here.

But, protest and even revolution-ready? That's me!

18. My best wishes to you on your new life.
If some mild confusion over DU topics and their authorship is the worst thing that you do this week, especially given your circumstances, I think you are going to be in for a wonderful life.

Hang in there and again, best wishes.

19. Muchas gracias. But another error!
... "not clean and going straight" should read "now clean and going straight" (and very clear-headed). :)

The ex-, however, by the sounds of it, increasingly psychopathic. :(

I should post my diary (my project is creative, but honest, writing, most likely on the green volcanic island of La Palma in the Canaries, this winter) somewhere. :hi:

10. Amen
I wonder if we have not reached a tipping point. I don't think Americans are going to keep siding with the Wall Street Party. They aren't seeing the so-called job creators creating jobs. The so-called job creators are probably just buying Republican politicians so that they can invest in creating more jobs overseas. That whole job creator thing is going to be the undoing of the Republicans. It was just one step too far for the Luntzians, imo. People are pissed.

Spoken like someone who never farmed! LOL!

I know a little bit about manure spreadin' and truth be told, manure stinks the most when it is spread around....

So this is kind of a bad analogy...
