Fascism is alive and strong in Utah
In my state, the GOP is pushing for redistricting. In a state that already is massively RED, they're redistricting.

Why?

Well, they have this problem of having too many democrats in their chambers, and want to redistrict to get rid of all of them.

It's not bad enough that this state is secretly (not so secretly) controlled by the dominant church of the state, they want to turn the state completely red, and squelch the voices of any democrat or independent.

Damnit, I hate my state. Think I should move....

1. Brownbackistan is just as bad.
Everyone's preoccupied with OWS right now, but we're starting to see some efforts to fight redistricting.

2. Correct me if I am wrong here
Would you describe Utah as the ultimate example of Big Government Conservatism?

Utah used to have a "porn czar" who was paid to look at porn all day and fish around for possible obscenity prosecutions.

3. Ya, pretty much. Government is HUGE in Utah, and its one of the REDDEST states.
Kinda hypocritical... and typical for GOP.

5. Yeah. The separation of Church and State is non existent here.
State controlled liquor stores, piss weak 3.2% beer, and more drug arrests than anywhere I've heard of... the state wastes millions every year incarcerating people for weed. Its stupid.

8. If you'd been caught, you'd be doing a 1-5 year sentence. If you were carrying more than a couple oz
you'd be doing 5-15 for intent to distribute.

The cops in Utah take weed far more serious than most other crimes.

10. when i checked on norml it says less than an ounce gets
up to 6 months in jail, but what is the chance of getting the maximum???

here in france possession of anything gets a max of 10 years, growing a plant gets 20 and growing a plant with the help of a friend gets max of 30 years but no one ever gets the max, in fact people dont get sentenced to jail for possession for use or growing for personal use ever and it is rare that a dealer/grower will get jail if it is their first bust.

do they really give people 6 months often there in utah?
