Occupy Anchorage photos

A good turnout, in any event, for Anchorage, with more planned for the future.

14. Was there for 8 winters- Sept. 91 to June 99

But could not take the dark of winter. Bad depression. I had some of the best times of my life (skiing at Kincaid Park in 0 degrees on lighted trail, hiking Crow Pass, Girdwood Forest Fair although that was becoming stale granola by the time I left). Really a magical place. Next time I come up we'll have to grab a fast coffee. Do you know Bob and Andrea?

but I don't know if it's the same one you're talking about. Yes, the winters can be hard on a lot of people. I've been here since '75, so I'm pretty used to them by now, but I know a lot of people who have trouble with only five hours of daylight and six months of snow. And, yes, the Forest Faire has gone downhill as has the Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival, but I'm sure we all have great memories of better times. :)

I would love to meet you next time you're up. Just let me know.

24. Heh- My little trio was supposed to play Talkeetna like in '96

We drove out, first time to go out there, and when we pulled in we could see that things were clearly out of hand. We turned around and went home. All of the good things have been eaten up, it seems. We were the Rude Mechanicals. Bob still hangs with Wade Hampton Miller.

One would think that in any gathering of that size in Alaska, Grifterella would be there to get her pockets lined a little more. Someone musta warned her against trying that. Bummer.
